About Linda

YA Chartered Senior Yoga Teacher and Women’s Wellbeing Coach. Fully insured.

Through my own life journey and teaching thousands of women over 18 years now, I know in every fibre of my being that our health is our real wealth.

And more specifically for peri-menopausal women, our CORE health – both pelvic floor and core stability and who we are at our ‘core’ is the foundation of both mental and physical wellbeing.

I help midlife women reawaken their CORE strength.  Which means optimising physical function, and also practicing ‘holding life lightly’.  Yoga philosophy provides an anchor through the turbulance of midlife hormonal flux.

Up to 2004BK (before kids), I had a busy corporate life in television, but now I’m an even busier mum of three and a business owner, so I fully understand how life can be a juggle.

For 30 years now, Yoga has helped me personally on so many levels and is now a cornerstone of my life.

In 2007 I completed my foundation 450hr training with some of Australia’s most senior teachers and have kept training and developing ever since. In 2012 I undertook a year long pre and post natal post graduate diploma with the International Yoga Teachers Association and my real passion for women’s health was ignited.

I’ve been lucky enough to study with the likes of Donna Farhi and Judith Lasater, Jambo Turong (Forrest Yoga guardian) and Burrell Education (global leaders in Women’s Health training), recently gaining their renowned 3rd Age Women’s Health certification.

I wanted to share the benefits of this ancient science with other busy women in a relevant way, so as a specialist pre and post natal Yoga teacher, I created YogaMums and my YogaBirthing method in 2013, specialising in helping women prepare physically and mentally for whatever birth unfolds for them, helping Dads become amazing birth partners with the Couples Birth Prep workshops I run with my husband Mike, and then helping new mums recover pelvic floor and core function for the long term.

As I hit midlife myself and my own women’s wellbeing journey progressed with peri menopause,  I amalgamated YogaMums into Linda Stephens Wellbeing.

Then came Covid Lockdown and like so many others, I converted to online teaching, culminating in the creation of the WomensWellbeing.me online yoga studio and information hub for peri-post menopausal women.

I love teaching women to work optimally with their bodies and to still those busy minds!

A membership site is the ultimate way to help women keep accountable and ‘doing the work’ at an accessible cost.

Part of my obsession with pelvic floor function (and dysfunction) comes from healing myself:

In 2011 I went into labour at 24wks with my third child and was put on strict bedrest for four months to save the pregnancy.  My biggest yoga practice to date!!

Because of atrophied muscles, my pubic bone agonisingly split at 31 weeks when I tried to get up suddenly. I experienced full Pubic Symphasis Diastasis where the two sides of my pubic bone came apart – an excruciating and completely debilitating condition.

Initially unable to walk post birth because of the PS diastasis, I was diligent with research and rehabilitation, following the work of American biomechanics expert Katy Bowman and creating a healing programme that I’ve since incorporated into my Pelvic Floor Restore classes and courses.  Over time I managed to heal myself completely without surgery.

Through my extensive research and ongoing training and teaching, I’ve found that much of the pelvic floor dysfunction problems I’m coming stem from tension around the pelvis and postural misalignment.

Through my own experiences of birth trauma and the impact of peri-post menopausal hormonal changes on the muscles of the pelvis,  I’ve deep dived into how mid life women can positively influence pelvic floor and menopause symptoms using ancient yoga tools, nutrition and lifestyle adaptions.

Now my focus is on educating women about the natural alignment and function of the pelvis (the centre of one’s gravity), how to optimise pelvic floor function, how to de-stress and calm the central nervous system and how to move well without pain.

I take a keen interest in all aspects of functional well-being so that I can help my students as holistically as possible.

To that end, I have also trained as a Women’s Life Coach and women’s health motivational speaker through the world renowned One Of Many organisation.  I also work closely with aligned health practitioners so that I can refer on where necessary and help clients get the bespoke, holistic guidance they need .

When women work with me, they get access to a huge depth and breadth of wellbeing tools and support tailored to them.

I’d love to be part of YOUR yoga and wellbeing journey
